BANGALORE: Their spirits soaring, their collective imagination taking wings, 80-odd children of the Spastics Society of Karnataka (SSK) had a Children's Day in the sky. Glued to their seats, they looked down at the city from the 45-minute special `Flight of Inspiration' organised for them by Jet Airways. The flight took off from HAL Airport and after covering most of the city, headed towards Mysore and then returned to the city. The children were welcomed at the airport's departure gate with balloons and were then escorted to the lounge. They watched the take-off and landing of airplanes in awe, even as Jet Airways staff sought to educate them on the many facets of airline operations. Then the children stepped onto the flight, which was flagged off by Governor T.N. Chaturvedi. The fuel for the flight was provided free of charge by Indian Oil Corporation (IOC). The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were given Jet Airways mementoes. They were served snacks by Sky Gourmet. Child magician Karun also entertained the children with some of his tricks.
