Puducherry: Chief Minister N. Rangasamy has said that the Secondary Education Board would start functioning soon to adopt a new orientation to promote high standards of education and to develop skills of students. Distributing cash awards to a number of children in recognition of their creative talents on the occasion of the Children's Day organised by Directorate of School Education here on Tuesday, Mr. Rangasamy said that kindergarten sections would be started in all schools in rural and semi urban pockets. Education Minister M.O.H.F. Shah Jahan said that the education curriculum would be recast soon to ensure that students obtained opportunities to gain integrated talents. Secretary to Education B.V. Selvaraj also spoke. M. Ramadoss MP, chairperson of Puducherry municipal council B. Sridevi, MLA R. Siva, Director of School Education G. Ragesh Chandra and Joint Director of Education Ramadoss, municipal councillor S. Rajalakshmi, were among those who spoke. Earlier cultural programmes were presented by school children.
