BANGALORE: Two persons were killed and five were injured when the sports utility vehicle (SUV) by which they were travelling rammed a tree on National Highway No. 48 in Nelamangala police station limits in Bangalore Rural District on Wednesday morning. The police said that as the axle broke, the driver lost control over the vehicle and rammed a tree. The accident occurred around 7 a.m. near Kempalinganahalli Gate. The vehicle was coming towards Bangalore. The dead were identified as John (26) and Lokesh (27), both employees of a private company at Richmond Circle. The injured have been admitted to a hospital. The condition of one of them, Venkatesh, is serious, the police said. The Nelamangala police have registered a case. Avinash (23) was killed after he rammed his motorcycle against an electric pole on Banashankari Ring Road, off Kamakya cinema, around 11 p.m.
