Puducherry: Senior Superintendent of Police (Crime and Intelligence) Mrs. Chhaya Sharma said in a release here on Tuesday that three persons wanted in connection with the alleged murder of the Puducherry State Youth Congress Committee secretary had surrendered before two different courts. She said that as soon as a complaint was received on November 6 that Gopi, Youth Congress Secretary' was murdered by a three-member gang, the police intensified the investigation to nab the accused and a thorough combing operations of all their possible hideouts was done. While one of the accused Raghu alias Kandan of Jeevanandapuram surrendered before a local court on November 8, his other two accomplices Kodal Viji (alias Vijayan) and Arulraj of Chinna Kottakuppam surrendered before the court of Judicial Magistrate in Cuddalore on November 13. They would be taken into police custody for interrogation. Previous animosity and jealousy were alleged to be reason. The police teams led by Circle Inspector M. Angappan and the special task force headed by Inspector I. R.C. Mohan cracked the case.
