Pharma firm's plea on insulin vials

TIRUPATI : At the instance of leading pharmaceutical company, Wockhardt and the Government Drug Authorities, the Chittoor District Chemists and Druggists Association on Tuesday announced that the public who are in possession of the company's insulin injection vials— `Wocillin' could return the same to the shops from where they had purchased the medicine and collect their money.

This is being done in the interest of the diabetic patients, said president of the association P.V. Rathnam in a statement and appealed to all the medical shops and agencies in the district to accept the insulin vials and send them back to the company.

World COPD Day

On World Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Day on Wednesday, a note circulated by a leading Allergy and Chest Hospital here has warned that COPD, called as `smokers' cough' in layman's terms was the fourth leading cause of death in the world, next only to heart attack, brain stroke and acute lung infections.
