VIZIANAGARAM: While many children suffer from `maths phobia', Nischal Narayanam, who has earned a name in the Guinness Book for his mental ability, performed a `Sathaavadhanam in maths' for the first time at Ananda Gajapathi Auditorium here on Tuesday night. Sai Foundation founder and MLA K. Veerabhadra Swamy, who organised the event on the occasion of Children's Day, felicitated him and presented `Letha Gulabi' puraskar for his analytical skills in the subject. Nischal, a native of this town, faced a volley of mathematical problems from a number of dignitaries who included Sri Tridandi China Jeeyar Swamy, Mukkamala Kshetra Peethadhipathi Sridhar Swamiji, TTD chairman B. Karunakar Reddy and others.
Magical feat
Sri China Jeeyar Swamy, who first asked him to complete the magic square (Sudoku) with a sum totalling 962, was pleased when he filled the square in a few seconds. All the 100 problems, which included Pythagoras Theorem, division of smaller number by a large number, multiplication of seven digit number by a seven digit number, identification of the day between 1800 AD and 3000 AD, fifth root of nine digit number, etc. were answered in a few seconds to the dismay of the audience.
