Congress Ministers, MPs, MLAs accompany Jeevan Reddy

SHOW OF STRENGTH: Congress leaders taking out a rally in Karimnagar on Wednesday.

KARIMNAGAR: A massive rally by the ruling Congress here marked electioneering to the by-elections to the Karimnagar Lok Sabha as party candidate T. Jeevan Reddy filed his nomination papers on Wednesday.

A colourful rally took the district headquarters town by storm and slogans rent the air as a galaxy of MPs, Ministers, MLAs and other leaders from the Telangana region descended to extend support to Mr. Jeevan Reddy.

DCC President T. Santosh Kumar, PCC President K. Keshava Rao, Ministers -- M. Satyanarayana Rao, Ponnala Laxmaiah, K. Jana Reddy, J. Geetha Reddy, Sabitha Reddy, Mohd. Ali Shabbir, Mohd. Fareeduddin and Redya Naik waved to the crowds, perched atop a van.

The entry into the party of N. Ramkishan Rao, a senior TDP leader and former Minister, received enthusiastic response.

KCR slammed

Earlier, party leaders addressed a meeting in the Circus grounds, launching a scathing attack against TRS president K. Chandrasekhara Rao for neglecting Telangana as MP and Union Minister.

Mr. Keshava Rao said they would go to the people and talk of development achieved in the past two-and-a-half years, of Telangana in general and the district in particular. They would educate people on `Jalayagnam' and what it would mean to the backward region.
