Medical insurance for poor

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy has asked officials of the health and other departments to finalise the medical insurance scheme for the poor and see that it is launched in January next year.

Reviewing the progress of the proposed scheme for the BPL families at a meeting with Health Minister K. Rosaiah, department officials and representatives of insurance companies on Wednesday, Dr. Reddy said the Government was serious on implementing it. The Government had already allotted Rs. 20 crores and was trying to get Central assistance.
