Traffic monitors to be deployed

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As many as 37 specially trained traffic monitors will be deployed in various parts of the city to help the police manage vehicular traffic.

The services of these monitors will be available from the coming week, a press note issued here on Wednesday said. The monitors underwent a special training programme for a month and will now receive four days of practical training before deployment. The deployment of the traffic monitors will address the long-standing demand from the public and the residents' associations for more traffic police personnel in the city, the press note added.
