Thiruvananthapuram: The district police investigating the rape of a Government employee have registered a case of harassment and blackmail against her husband. The woman had complained that a senior official in her department had raped her at her house last year. The police found that the woman's husband had accused her of having an illicit relationship with her senior colleague. The husband, an advocate, allegedly blackmailed her on this pretext. The accused made the woman sell her property and used the money to build a house and buy a luxury car. The Kazhakuttam police have registered a case under section 498 IPC against the woman's husband. Meanwhile, the woman's colleague who has been accused of rape has moved for anticipatory bail.
