CBSE exams on schedule

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday informed the Delhi High Court that the upcoming Class X and Class XII examinations would begin on schedule.

Counsel for the Board conveyed this to a Division Bench of the Court comprising Justice Vijender Jain and Justice P.K. Bhasin in reply to a notice issued by it on a public interest litigation by a non-governmental organisation, Manav Adhikar Suraksha Samiti, seeking rescheduling of the examinations to cover the loss of teaching days in schools in the Capital due to the agitation against sealing of commercial premises.

The Board said there was no plan as of now to review the schedule of the examinations. Following the Board's submission, the Bench disposed of the petition.

The petitioner submitted that school children, particularly those who would be appearing in the coming Board examinations next year, had suffered the most due to the agitation against the sealing drive.
