The prohibitive cost of land deters many an entrepreneur from taking up projects in the city. The trend is set to change with some development projects to be established on the outskirts. More projects are in the pipeline at other places near Kochi. A housing project to be set up at Cherthala is one of the new initiatives in this direction. This could well be a beginning when the Greater Cochin would extend beyond the conventional places.
