State urged to procure farm produce

BANGALORE: Basavaraj Bommai, MLC, has said that growers in the State are in severe financial difficulty following slump in the prices of farm produce, and urged the Government to convene a meeting of representatives of farmers' organisations and political parties to find a solution to the problem.

In a letter to Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, Mr. Bommai said the Government should increase the revolving fund amount to Rs. 1,000 crore and procure the produce from farmers.
