Preparedness of heavy water plant tested

Staff Reporter

KHAMMAM: Collector Sashibushan Kumar could point out some minor deficiencies in the offsite emergency exercise -- an annual feature conducted in the Manuguru heavy water plant - on Thursday to ascertain its preparedness to meet any sort of eventuality. Amudalapalli, a tiny village, in the vicinity was identified for the exercise.

The Collector, who is also the offsite emergency director, observed that the emergency siren was not audible in certain areas. On the whole, the plant was found to be well equipped to meet any sort of situation.
