Challapalli Zone is champion

VIJAYAWADA: Challapalli Zone emerged overall champions of the 17th Grigg memorial Central Zone boys' games meet, which concluded at IGMC stadium here on Thursday.

The results (all finals): Under-17: Ball Badminton: Machilipatnam bt Tiruvuru 29-10, 29-7. Softball: Vijayawada Rural bt Challapalli 10-2. Throwball: Challapalli bt Nuzvid 25-14, 25-15. Kabaddi: Challapalli bt Nuzvid 35-13. Badminton: Vuyyuru bt Tiruvuru 15-10, 15-8. Tennikoit: Tiruvuru bt Gudivada 21-6, 21-8. Volleyball: Kaikaluru bt Gudivada 25-17, 25-19.

Under-14: Ball Badminton: Kaikaluru bt Nuzvid 29-18, 29-11. Softball: Challapalli bt Vijayawada Rural 2-1. Kabaddi: Challapalli bt Vuyyuru 48-14; Badminton: Turuvuru bt Nuzvid 15-10, 15-9. Tennikoit: Challapalli bt Gudivada 21-9, 21-15. Volleyball: Challapalli bt Nuzvid 25-18, 25-19.

Inter-district tourney

Andhra Pradesh senior volleyball inter-district tournament (men and women) will be held at Rajahmundry from December 6 to 10, while junior inter-district (boys and girls) will be held at Ongole from December 20 to 24. — Sports Reporter
