VIJAYAWADA: The eighth South Zone netball championship for boys and girls will be held at Pavilion grounds, Khammam, from November 17 to 19. Teams from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry are expected to take part in the championship. Afroz Sameena, chairperson, Khammam Municipality, will be the chief guest.
Tournament for women
The Andhra Pradesh State Women Group (II) championship for hockey, tennis and handball will be held from November 27 to 29 at the Dr. Hanimi Reddy sports complex at Mylavaram. The State teams for the National championship to be held at Sangali (Maharashtra) from December 26 to 29 will be picked during the championship.
Bridge coaching

Sahiti welcomed
A warm welcome was accorded to Gudivada's Lakshmi Sahiti, who won the Woman International Master (WIM) title at the Asian junior chess championship at New Delhi recently, here on Thursday. Krishna District Chess Association office-bearers congratulated Sahiti on her achievement. The association is planning a felicitation function for her. Sports Reporter
