"EAT VEGGIES": A child decorated with vegetables at the venue. Photo: A. Shaikmohideen
If a message is conveyed in an effective and novel manner, it will certainly reach the target group. If that group is below the age of 10, the task is definitely more difficult. When the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) and National Child Labour Project recently celebrated Children's Day at Palayamkottai at Florence Swainson Higher Secondary School for the Deaf, the audience, especially children, were very much attracted by a `vegetable girl.' To stress the need for having vegetables in their daily diet, the ICDS workforcedecorated a girl with a variety of vegetables and made her stand near the main entrance of the venue.
