G. Pankajam, former Vice-Chancellor of Gandhigram Rural University, on Thursday inaugurated the newly built additional classrooms at Annammal College of Education for Women, Tuticorin, using grants from the University Grants Commission (UGC). Each of the galleried classrooms has a seating capacity of 40. They were named after the former (late) principal of the college, K.P. Kala, and the former (late) trustee, S. Natarajan. Dr. Pankajam said that `commitment' and `politeness' should be the buzzwords for teachers to excel in their profession. "Love for the students and dedication to the profession would stand above all the academic qualifications a teacher possessed. Teachers should make maximum possible effort to develop their overall personality," she added. A. Joycelin Shermila, Principal, and the trustee members of the college were present.
