Karaikudi: A brace by Ramkumar helped Thennarasu Football Club, Pallathur beat V.V. Football Club, Manachi 2-0 in the Sivagangai District Football Association `A' division league at the Kaleeswara Football Club ground, Kalanivasal, Karaikudi on Friday. In an earlier match, Kalaivanar Football Club, Palayur beat Andavar Football Club, Vadagudi 4-0. Prabakaran and Kuthoose scored two goals each.
Erode teams win
Dindigul: Erode boys and girls posted emphatic 5-1 and 4-0 victories over Tiruvannamalai and Kanchipuram respectively in the inter-district football tournament organised by the Sports Development Authority of Tamilnadu (SDAT) here on Thursday. The event is being organised under the Sports Authority of India (SAI) scheme for promotion of sports and games for boys and girls below 16. Other results: Boys: Dindigul bt Ariyalur 4-1; Pudukottai bt Salem 5-0; Tuticorin bt Kanchipuram 1-0. Thiruvarur bt Nilgiris 2-0; Tirunelveli bt Karur 4-0; Thanjavur bt Coimbatore 3-0; Nagapattinam bt Madurai 3-0. Girls: Kanyakumari bt Trichy 4-0; Vellore bt Tirunelveli 1-0.

Nagarcoil: Kanyakumari beat Theni 25-19, 25-20 in the boys' section of the inter-district volleyball tournament, under the sports Authority of India Scheme of promotion of games and sports for boys and girls under-16, organised by SDAT at the Anna Stadium, Nagercoil on Thursday.
