Raghavendra is champion

BANGALORE : N. Raghavendra emerged the winner in javelin of the VTU State-level inter-college athletic meet here on Thursday.

Earlier, V. Shashank and Kavya Muthanna set new records in the 400 metres hurdles and high jump events respectively. Shashank clocked 58.53s while Kavya Muthanna leaped to 1.55 metres.

The results: Men: Javelin: 1. N. Raghavendra (East Point CE), 2. Laiju Thomas, 3. S Imran. Half marathon: 1. Rahul Kumar (Acharya Inst of tech), 2. H.P Praveen, 3. Bhau Sadekar. Women: 5km walk: 1. S.G Sowmya (Sir MVIT), 2. Vidyavathi, 3. Surabhi R Krishna. 1500m: 1. Rajeshwari D. Arina (Bapuji Inst of Tech), 2. S Shishira, 3. Sneha Shampur.
