Ramadoss' appeal to Karunanidhi
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI:
Pattali Makkal Katchi founder S. Ramadoss on Thursday urged the Chief Minister to take up the problem of Sri Lankan Tamils with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi, during his trip to New Delhi later this month, in connection with the Mullaperiyar dam issue.
Referring to the proposed visit of Mahinda Rajapaksa to India this month, the PMK leader, in a statement, said if the country were to take a firm stand that it would not compromise on the security of the Tamils, this lay in the hands of political parties in Tamil Nadu, particularly with the Chief Minister. Mr. Karuananidhi should also coordinate measures for expressing protest during Mr. Rajapaksa's visit.
