Car rental case: Conditional bail granted

CHENNAI: A Metropolitan Magistrate Court granted conditional bail to Meenakshi Reddy, who was arrested by the central crime branch police on Tuesday following two complaints of non-payment of car rentals.

On Thursday, Metropolitan Magistrate P. Ganesan granted bail to Ms. Reddy and directed her to deposit Rs. 50 lakh in each case and furnish two sureties for Rs. 1 lakh each.

One of the sureties shall be a relative or a government servant.

The order was passed after Abbudu Kumar Rajarathinam, counsel for Ms. Reddy, offered to deposit Rs. 1 crore and cooperate with the police in settling the dues to the complainants.
