Boy injured as gun goes off
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD:
A 12-year-old boy suffered wounds when a country-made firearm went off accidentally at Nagireddypally thanda of Maheswaram mandal on city fringes on Wednesday night. The injured boy, A. Naresh, was rushed to Osmania General Hospital where the doctors said he was out of danger. According to Maheswaram Sub-Inspector Kiran Kumar, some persons came to the thanda to meet their friend Bhaskar, a farmer, in a jeep. "It is a practice here with the locals to go hunting for wild boars," the SI said. Bhaskar had no arms licence but had two guns. As the four-wheeler drove in, children gathered around it out of curiosity. One of the guns went off injuring the boy. A case of rash and negligent act was registered against Bhaskar who fled the spot.
