25 acres of Government land reclaimed

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: In a swift operation, the district revenue authorities reclaimed 25 acres of Government land encroached upon by unscrupulous elements on Survey no. 83 in Bandlaguda area here on Thursday.

"Some vested interests mowed down the rocks in the area and began converting them into plots for sale. We go to see this clandestine activity during my visit to the area," the Hyderabad Collector R.V. Chandravadan said in a statement here on Thursday. The land located next to the SC, ST Housing Colony was in the possession of the Housing Department from 1999 before it was encroached, he informed.

A team of revenue officials, including Law Officer Y. Satyanarayana, Deputy Director, Survey and Land Records, A. Bhaskar, Bandlaguda MRO P. Leela and others rushed to the spot and regained possession of the land.
