Janardhan Reddy's petition adjourned
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE:
The Karnataka High Court adjourned to November 22 a petition by the suspended Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLC from Bellary, Janardhan Reddy, seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry against Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy and others.
Mr. Reddy had initially moved a single judge seeking an inquiry by an independent agency against Mr. Kumaraswamy and others for allegedly demanding "kickbacks" from mine owners and operators in Bellary. The single judge had said that the allegations made in the petition were more in the nature of public interest and sought for it to be posted before a Division Bench.
The case had come up as a public interest litigation petition on Friday before a Division Bench. The Bench adjourned it as there was no representation from the petitioner.
