BANGALORE: Bangalore will play host to the 22nd National junior athletics championships from November 25 to 29. The five-day event at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium should be the perfect platform for fringe athletes to hit the big stage, what with the probables for the World Youth Championship 2007 at Ostrava, Czech Republic and Commonwealth Youth Games 2008 in Pune, to be selected from this championship. Nearly 1,800 athletes and about 100 officials will assemble and 118 events will be held. Kerala, an athletics powerhouse, is fielding the biggest contingent of 180 athletes. Principal Correspondent
