CPI(M)'s stand flayed

Staff Reporter

`First instance of political ostracism'

KOLLAM: P. Ramabhadran, State president of the Kerala Dalit Federation (KDF), has said that the declaration of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) of refusing to share a venue with the Democratic Indira Congress (Karunakaran) leaders K. Karunakaran and K. Muraleedharan could well be the first instance of political ostracism in Kerala.

In a statement here on Friday, Mr. Ramabhadran wanted Mr. Karunakaran to come out with a strong reaction against the CPI(M) declaration.

"When the CPI(M) states that the party will not share a venue with Mr. Karunakaran and Mr. Muraleedharan in Thiruvambadi, will that party share a venue there with the Kerala Congress(J) leader P.J. Joseph, who is involved in a sexual assault case and P.C. Thomas, who lost his MP seat from Muvattupuzha since the High Court found him guilty of employing communal tactics while contesting the election," Mr. Ramabhadran said.
