Bus passengers robbed at Valluru forest

Sangareddy: Masked miscreants said to be seven in number waylaid a Nizamabad depot bus in the Valluru forest area in Chegunta mandal of Medak district at 9 p.m. on Thursday night and robbed the passengers.

According to reports reaching here, the robbers threatened the passengers with knives and daggers and took away 20 tolas of gold and Rs. 2 lakhs in cash.

The commuters were terrified by the incident.

The police said that the bus started from Basar and was on its way to Hyderabad when the incident occurred at 9 p.m.

Bus hijacked?

In another incident, a Hyderabad-Gulbarga bus reportedly went `missing' from National Highway-9 and the police were trying to trace it.

Unconfirmed reports point out that the bus had been hijacked.
