Bangalore: Frank Anthony Public School (FAPS) defeated Cambridge Public School by 62 runs in a Himalaya Cup inter-school under-15 tournament match here on Friday.
The scores: FAPS 303 for six in 45 overs (Abhijith 83, Ashwal 55 n.o., Sannan 44, Mandeep 41) bt Cambridge Public School 241 for nine in 45 overs (Bharath 55, Shashank 41). St. Joseph's IHS 257 for nine in 45 overs (Ashish 77) bt Kensri School 151 in 36.5 overs (V. Abhishek 55, S. Vignesh six for 27). The PTA School 109 in 31 overs lost to JIRS 113 for two in 24.2 overs (Vishaak 51 n.o.). Parachute Regiment School 83 in 19.2 overs (G. Pavan four for 28) lost to Bangalore HSS 85 for two in 11.3 overs. St. Germain's HS 64 in 19 overs (S. It's ASC vs. KSP
Army Service Corps and Karnataka State Police set up a title clash in the Kodava Cup hockey tournament with victories on the penultimate day here on Friday. ASC defeated host Bharat Electronics Limited 4-0 with Bhengra (4th) scoring off a penalty corner, Parthasarthy (30th), K.P. Deepu (35th) and Sanjay Tete (52nd) adding their names to the scorers' tally. Karnataka State Police also notched up its second straight win beating Indian Telephone Industries 4-1. Roshan Madappa fired in a quick brace (5th and 7th) followed up by Rathore (41st) and Chetan Krishna (52nd). Poonacha (46th) scored ITI's only goal. Five new meet records were set in the VTU State-level inter-collegiate athletics meet here on Friday.
Five new records
Sneha Patil of Oxford College set new records in the 400m hurdles and 100m hurdles, Kavya Muthanna of Dr Ambedkar Institute of Technology set a new mark in high jump and also bettered the 100m hurdles record, Amith Haval of KLESCET topped the 200m timing and G. Vinay of Nagarjuna College of Engineering set a new standard in hammer throw. Other results: Men: Long jump: B. Shaheed (GVIT, KGF). Discus: K. Prithvraj (Vivekananda CE). 200m: Amit Haval (KLECET). Murthy beats Sohail
B.V. Srinivasa Murthy defeated Sohail Jairaj 72-4, 74-18, 45-34, 64-57 in the State senior ranking snooker tournament at the KSBA Hall here on Friday. Other results: Sunil Sharma bt C. MGM enters final
MGM College, Udupi, entered the final of the Mangalore University inter-collegiate cricket tournament organised by SMS College, Brahmawar. In the semifinals, it beat host by four wickets. Leggie Sachindra Pai, who took four wickets for 33 for the winner, was declared man of the match.
The scores: SMS 153 in 47.4 overs (Rolphy 41, Surendra 32, Sachindra four for 33) lost to MGM 154 for six in 38.5 overs (Asif 64 n.o., Chethan 44).
Easy for Oriental
Sukhwinder Singh and Hemant struck a brace each as Oriental defeated Dharmaraja Union 7-0 in the Prasanna Kumar Memorial State A division football league here on Friday. Murali, Derick and Lewis were the other scorers. In another match, Government Press held Nationals to a 2-2 draw. Mugilan and Om Prakash scored for Nationals before Sudhakar Rao's brace helped Government Press draw parity.

St. Charles triumphs
Host St. Charles HS emerged champion in the inter-ICSE PTA throwball tournament, which concluded in Bangalore on Thursday. In the final, St. Charles defeated Sophia HS 25-11, 25-18.
