HUBLI: The Hubli police have arrested three youngsters who tried to cheat the parents of boy who had gone missing, by claiming that they had the boy with them. The police gave the names of the arrested as Abdul Mazid Amir Hussein Panchamaldar (20), Muktum Hussein Moulasab Nadaf (20) and Mohammad Ali Mohammad Umarsab Jangli (24), all residents of Kolekar Plot in Old Hubli. The police said Mohammad Shabbir B. Nadaf (14) had gone missing from his residence in Kolekar Plot on October 31 and his father Bashasab Nadaf had registered a complaint in Kasabapet Police Station.
Plan
The accused, living in the same area, planned to make money by claiming that they had the missing boy with them. They called the father of the boy on phone and demanded Rs. 2 lakh for handing over the boy. They even threatened to kill the boy if the police were informed, the police revealed. However the father of the boy got suspicious about the movement of the some strangers loitering around his residence and informed the police. The police arrested the three. The police said the three had no information on the boy who had gone missing and were simply trying to make use of the situation for their benefit. They have been remanded in judicial custody.
