The two buildings are located in the Qutub Institutional Area in south Delhi where commercial activities are banned.
A Division Bench, comprising Justices Vijender Jain and Rekha Sharma, refused to oblige the English daily saying the petitioner was prima facie flouting the law.
When Arun Jaitley, counsel for the newspaper, submitted that the Delhi Development Authority did not have the power to direct the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) straightaway to seal his client's premises, the Bench said the petitioner could not take recourse to the law when it had prima facie violated it.
However, it allowed IIPM's request for two months time to vacate the premises.
It ordered de-sealing of the IIPM office when its counsel gave an undertaking to the court that his client would vacate the premises within two weeks.
