NEW DELHI: A Delhi court on Friday issued a notice to the prosecution on a petition by Bharti Yadav, key prosecution witness in the Nitish Katara murder case and daughter of former Member of Parliament D.P. Yadav, seeking recording of her evidence in camera on November 29. Taking her application on record, Additional Sessions Judge Ravinder Kaur directed the prosecution to file a reply to the application by November 20. Ms. Bharti is at present in London pursuing a professional course.Counsel for Ms. Bharti filed the application on a Delhi High Court direction on Thursday. Seeking a restraint on media persons from covering the recording of evidence of Ms. Bharti, her counsel had urged the High Court to issue a direction to the trial court to conduct the proceedings in camera. Refusing to pass any order on the plea, Mr. Justice Sikri had asked counsel for Ms. Bharti to move the trial for an appropriate order on the plea. Vikas Yadav and Vishal Yadav, brother and cousin of Ms. Bharti, are facing trial in the case for allegedly kidnapping and killing Nitish Katara.
