hand over charge

KOCHI: Deputy Inspector General of Police, Ernakulam Range,

K. Padmakumar will hand over charge on Saturday evening. This is following his appointment as Commissioner of Police Thiruvananthapuram City. Revda Chandrasekhar, who is back from a United Nations mission to Sudan, will hold the charge of DIG, Ernakulam Range, temporarily.

Mayor files affidavit

Kochi: Kochi Corporation expects to conduct the trial run of the solid waste treatment plant at Brahmapuram during December next, according to an affidavit submitted by Kochi Mayor Mercy Williams before Ombudsman for Local Bodies T.K. Chandrasekhara Das. She assured the Ombudsman that the progress of the work of the plant would be reported form time to time. — Staff Reporter

Kochi: Sirens will be blown from the Tatapuram factory of the Hindustan Lever Limited on Saturday between 9.15 a.m. and 10 a.m. as part of the safety emergency preparedness. People need not panic on hearing the siren, said a statement issued by the factory authorities.
