Two women robbed of gold chains

BANGALORE: Two women were robbed of their gold chains, together worth Rs. 1 lakh, in separate incidents in the city on Thursday.

The police said three men, who came on a motorcycle, snatched a gold chain worth Rs. 60,000 from Gowramma (38) in Yelahanka police station limits.

The incident occurred around 7.30 p.m. near Kogilu Cross while Gowramma and her niece Divya were walking towards a kalyana mantap to attend a marriage.

On a complaint by Gowramma, a resident of Marutinagar, the Yelahanka police have registered a case.

Another incident

In the second incident, a man snatched a gold chain worth Rs. 40,000 from an elderly woman in Yeshwanthpur police station limits.

The police said that around 3.30 p.m. the robber relieved Subbamma (80) of the chain while she was sitting on a bench at a park near the Railway Quarters.

The Yeshwanthpur police have registered a case.
