Puducherry: The Union Territory received a 3.6 cm rainfall during 24 hours ending 8.30 a.m. on Saturday. Most of the areas and residential pockets bore the brunt of the incessant rains since last night. Most of the roads remained waterlogged. Some of the senior citizens of the town said that never in their life had they seen such stagnation of rainwater. This was either because of the choking of the flow of water by plastic material or the silt that had accumulated for days together or because of poor drainage system. Vehicular traffic came to a halt for a few hours
