Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: To enable residents of tourist spots to earn a livelihood through tourism, the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) will start a four-year course in tourism marketing from the next academic year. The department has already started the process of structuring a common syllabus for the course, Tourism Secretary I.M. Vittala Murthy said here on Friday.

"This course will be similar to a five-year course for tourist guides in China," Mr. Murthy said.
