Cooperative sector seminar on Tuesday

ALAPPUZHA: The Alappuzha district cooperative bank and the Department of Cooperation will jointly organise a seminar on the cooperative sector at Aiswarya Auditorium here on Tuesday, bank president Nalanda Gopalakrishnan Nair and general manager-in-charge S. Sreekumar have said.

Experts from the cooperative sector would present papers on `Role of cooperative movement in protecting weaker sections' and `Modernisation and professionalism in cooperative sector,' said Mr. Nair at a press conference here.

Minister for Cooperation G. Sudhakaran would inaugurate the seminar at 10 a.m. Alappuzha district panchayat president R. Nazar would preside.

MPs K.S. Manoj and C.S. Sujata, MLAs from Alappuzha district, State cooperative bank president Kadakampally Surendran and NABARD chief general manager B.S. Shekhawat would offer felicitations.
