Business seminar

CHENNAI: The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce will organise a seminar on `Doing business with USA' on November 24 at Residency Towers in T. Nagar. The programme, aimed at traders, manufacturers and IT company representatives, will cover topics such as acquiring contacts and marketing. American business heads will participate. Diabetes camp

English workshop

Sri Ramakrishna Math Vivekananda Centenary Girls' High School conducted an inter-school literary competition on the school premises, Nearly 700 students from 25 city schools participated.

Medical camp

BRS Hospital is conducting a free medical camp to detect hernia on November 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call 28255505 to register.

Blood donation

The Youth Red Cross wings at Jeppiaar Engineering College conducted a blood donation camp recently and 135 students donated blood. The college holds the `Dr Sivaraj Rolling Trophy' from the Indian Red Cross Society for maximum blood donated by students.

Children's Day

The Centre for the Welfare of the Aged and Mudhir Solai Trust organised a Children's Day programme to create a positive attitude among children towards the elderly. Both organisations work with the aged from the slums. Around 400 people, including 250 children participated from various slums.

Competitions

The Mylapore Academy conducted a painting and fancy dress competition for Children's Day, where over 500 children participated. St Louis Institute for the deaf and Blind, Adyar, won the rolling trophy. Prizes will be distributed on November 22 at PS Higher Sec School.

Crockery exhibition

A crockery exhibition is being held at the Guild of Service, Casa Major Road, till November 19. It has been organised by Crystal Trading Company.
