Widow of Dr. Kotnis not coming

Beijing: Bad health has prevented Guo Qinglan, 91-year-old widow of Indian doctor Dwarkanath Kotnis from being part of Chinese President Hu Jintao's entourage. Ms. Guo was expected to be the oldest member of Mr. Hu's entourage on his maiden visit to India from November 20 to 23. "Though Guo was initially named in the official Chinese delegation, her bad health prevented her from going to India for a sixth time," Chinese sources told PTI here.

"If I cannot go this time, I will make it when I get better," she said. "I want to have another look at where he was born and grew up," Ms. Guo, a retired nurse in Dalian, a coastal city in Northeast China's Liaoning Province, said.
