IGNOU results Indira Gandhi Open University conducts examinations in June and December every year. The paper `MEG UII - American Novel' was conducted on June 12, 2006. The result is yet to be published. Will the authorities concerned publish the result at least now and relieve the candidates of their anxiety? Another examination is due in December 2006. B. Krishna Moorthy, Moula Ali Back to rickshaws In certain areas of Delhi hand-pulled rickshaws are allowed. Then, why are they not in Hyderabad. Today, rickshaw pullers are a neglected lot here and lead a hand to mouth existence. Many still carry huge loads to eke out a living. Why are they not permitted in certain areas at least, especially in old city, to act as feeder service from railway stations and bus halts? Shiv Raj, Barkatpura Dirty despite bins MCH recently put in place new garbage bins. But the environs of some of them are extremely dirty. In the ones placed on the edge of the road as in Lakdi-ka-pul garbage spills on to the road. The situation is made worse by rag pickers who scramble for booty. The bin near the main gate of MCH playground in Red Hills, has been shifted. However, the people throw garbage at the place where the old bin was. Old habits die hard. Ravi Kumar, Nampally Extend train Railway authorities should extend Sachkhand Express train no. 2715 and 2716, from Nanded to Secunderabad. This train arrives at Nanded at 15.40 hr and leaves next day at 9.30 hr. Instead of waiting at Nanded this train could be brought to Secunderabad and leave Secunderabad in the morning to maintain its timings. Those travelling towards Manmaad, Bhusaval, Khandwa, Itarsi and New Delhi can then use this train. Those travelling towards Khandwa and beyond will get a direct train. This train will also provided a morning train towards Aurangabad-Manmaad. Ramratan Jhawar, Hyderabad Why the hullabaloo? I stayed in Singapore for the past three months. On the Internet I was following the debate about helmet rule in Hyderabad. In Singapore every two-wheeler rider has two helmets, one for himself and one for the pillion rider. I haven't seen a single rider without a helmet. Likewise, car and taxi drivers wear safety belts and taxi drivers politely remind you to wear it. I cannot understand why Hyderabadis make excuses such as -- it is hot, we cannot hear sounds on the road, we are senior citizens etc. The police must implement the law strictly. S.L.N.
