Mackenzie defeats Bhaskar

BANGALORE: Duncan Mackenzie defeated B. Bhaskar 5-3 in the State senior ranking snooker tournament here on Sunday.

In other matches, D. Rajkumar beat Vinay Katrela 5-2, Sajan Bopanna defeated M.S. Arun 5-3 and B.V. Srinivasmurthy got the better of Sunil Sharma 5-4.

RBRC teams shine

The Reserve Bank Recreation Club's (RBRC) carrom team emerged the runner-up in both the men and women's sections in the all-India Reserve Bank sports meet held at New Delhi recently.

G. Shiva of Bangalore finished the runner-up in men's singles and won the doubles title teaming up with H.K. Umesh. The team was felicitated by Devaki Muthukrishnan, Regional Director, RBI, here on Monday.

MVIT posts win

MVIT defeated Sapthagiri College 35-33 in a M.S. Ramaiah Memorial inter-engineering college basketball tournament match in Bangalore on Monday.

In the other matches, AIT defeated SJCIT 51-36 and RNSIT defeated BIT 56-40.

Chess tournament
