Rajahmundry: Minister for Roads and Buildings Jakkampudi Ramamohanarao on Monday launched the first agriculture website in Rajahmundry Agriculture Market (RAM). The website will give minute-to-minute information on varieties of production, minimum support price in various agriculture markets of the State and other parts of the country, market conditions, marketing facilities and other subjects related to agriculture production. The Minister said RAM officials should give wide coverage to prevailing market rates in print medium also, through which farmers would know the day-to-day situation and bring their produce to the markets.
Market modernisation
He said the State Government was going to spend Rs.3.60 crores on modernisation of RAM to construct rest house for farmers, canteen, bank building, RAM office complex and other basic amenities. The Minister said they were having a proposal to start Girijan Rythu Bazar in the same complex shortly with the help of GCC, Vizag. Vulli Prakasha Rao, Chairman, RAMC, Deputy Director of Agriculture Marketing Moses Jeevanatham, RAMC directors N. Bharathi, P. Kalyan Reddy, G. Pitchaiah, Varaprasad and Agriculture A.D. Sagar participated in the function.
