MANGALORE: Suma Sourabha, a Kannada fortnightly, will confer the "Sourbha award" on 25 persons from the State, for their achievements in diverse fields. The felicitation ceremony will be held on November 28, editor of the fortnightly M.G. Rao said at a press meet on Monday. The awardees are K.K. Pai (banking), Kuranji Venkataraman Gouda (education), Perla Krishna Bhat (Yakshagana), Jayadevappa Jainakeri (literature), V.B. Hosamane (journalism), Shantharam Shetty (medicine), M.N. Rajendra Kumar (co-operative banking), G.S. Chandrashekar (medicine), Ajith Kumar Rai (social work), Jay Ram Kadilaya (agriculture), Hemanth Chauta (professional education), B. Ravindra Rai (computer education), Chandrahas Ullal (Kannada theatre), Nagesh Bappanadu (instrumental music), Krupa Amar Alva (social work), Nagesh Hegde (hotel management) and Radhakrishna Upaddaya (multi-facilated achivement). Manjula R. and Mahesh R. Naik will be given the "Sourabha Yuva Award". Former Chief justice Venkatachala will distribute the prizes. Home Minister M.P. Prakash will attend the function.
