`Suvarna Karnataka', Rajasthani style
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE:
Monday was a time for celebration for over 2,000 Rajasthani families, who have settled in the city for years. And none other than Rajasthan Minister for Home and Prisons Amara Ram Choudhary joined them in their festivities.
To convey the message of brotherhood and unity, members of the Rajasthani community gathered to celebrate "Survarna Karnataka" in their own way.
Eminent personalities, including prominent members of the community and several Kannadigas, were felicitated with the traditional Rajasthani "Saafa" (turban), garlands and citations. "This is our way of telling the people of Karnataka that we are one among them," said the organisers.
Wishing the people of Karnataka a happy "Suvarna Karnataka" year, the Minister said irrespective of the State they belonged to, all Indians were united.
