Rs. 100 crores for sports school in Kadapa

KADAPA: The Government sanctioned Rs. 100 crores for constructing an indoor stadium and regional sports school on 100 acres of land at Kadapa, Deputy Mayor K. Nabi Rasool said on Tuesday.

He was speaking after inaugurating the district zonal sports meet at Sri Venkateswara High School at Bayannapalle in Chintakommadinne mandal.

He exhorted students to pursue sports activities too on a par with academics. Kabeer Puraskar awardee K. Rajarathnam Isaac favoured promotion of yoga and karate too in schools.

District Sports Development Officer Gopinath Reddy said the Government was spending Rs. 150 a day on each sportsperson. .
