Having fun with maths

Perhaps one of the most hated of subjects in a student's life is

Mathematics. But Koliyadukkum Government School in Chemmanad panchayat in Kasaragod gives a different picture. Here the students love the subject and have even formed a Maths Club.

"Their enthusiasm is unlimited and they just love to solve problems. The idea is to make students like the subject. So we have devised innovative methods to teach mathematical operations," says R. Valsan, headmaster.

"Through these methods, students not only have but also learn," says Suresh, mathematics teacher.

Ever day, a problem is put up on the notice board.

The students can solve it and drop the answer in the box provided for the purpose. The lucky winner gets a prize.
