Puducherry: Supporters of former Welfare Minister P. Angalan MLA took out a rally in Puducherry on Tuesday to condemn the "political conspiracy" against him resulting in his resignation from the Ministry on Saturday. They staged a demonstration on their way to Raj Nivas demanding restoration of the post to Mr. Angalan. Carrying placards, shouting slogans and seeking withdrawal of cases filed against Mr. Angalan, they said that those who had hatched the "conspiracy" should be brought to book. The rally started at Tirubuvanai (reserved) constituency from where Angalan was elected. They were proceeding through main thoroughfares to Raj Nivas in a bid to present a memorandum to Lt. Governor. But the police prevented them from going ahead. Only a delegation of the participants was permitted to meet the Lt. Governor and submit petition.
