CULTURAL TOUCH: Students of Holy Cross Girls Higher Secondary School presenting a dance performance in Tiruchi.

The highlight of the valediction of the 39th National Library Week celebrations held at the District Central Library in Tiruchi, on Friday, was a Bharathanatyam performance presented by students of the Holy Cross Girls Higher Secondary School.

Five students, V. Shanmugapriya, S. Ramya, M. Shanmugapriya, G. M. R. Karthika and S. R. Vinodha - presented an eye-catching performance to the song "Vannmaisaer Tamil Nadu yengal naadu; Vaazhthovom anbodu, Thenmaiyagiya thol veerar, Thingal mugam kol pengal vaazhum naadu" authored by the renowned Tamil poet Bharathidasan.

The song depicted the rich heritage and culture of Tamil Nadu besides the valour of the Tamilians. V. Shanmugapriya also presented another solo performance to the song `Bo Shambo' penned by Annamacharyar, which enthralled a good audience comprising the members of the various sections of the society and the students.
