Ahmadinejad moots summit

DUBAI: Iran has invited Iraqi President Jalal Talabani and Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad for a regional summit in Tehran over the weekend. Mr. Talabani has confirmed his visit. Analysts see the Iranian move as an effort to seize the initiative in diplomacy over Iraq. Iran's Fars News Agency quoted a senior official as saying the trilateral talks could yield "landmark results" for the Iraqi people.
