KOZHIKODE: The court has directed that the city corporation cannot unduly delay the proceedings in the case relating to the Njelianparambu garbage treatment plant filed by the Paristhithi Samrakshana Samithi. Additional Judge III R.R. Kamath in an order here on Tuesday granted the corporation three days time to file its contention in this regard. The corporation should give details of the steps taken by it to protect the health needs and other difficulties faced by the residents in the area surrounding the treatment plant, the court said. The court will pronounce on November 25 the order on the report of the Chief Environmental Engineer of the Kerala State Pollution Control Board on the condition of water in wells in the vicinity of the treatment plant.
